Beethoven - Piano Concerto 5 op.73 - Michelangeli/Giulini
Orchestral contribution by Giulini slightly underpowered in the 1st movement - undermining slighly the 'heroism' and power of the piece. But Michelangeli's playing in that movement is mesmeric in its nuance, length of line and detail. In the 2nd movement Giulini and Michelangeli gell for purity of line and depth of feeling for a truly great performance with the unique profound sentiment of power and repose in Beethoven.
